Umgeni Waterfall bowling club is made up of two halves. The older experienced players who have represented their club and regions on many levels and the younger up and coming members and social players. The experienced players teach the novices, and everyone gets to play together which is also good fun. The age groups range from over 80 to 12 years. Everyone comes for the fun of playing bowls and the enjoyment of sharing time with a mix of young and the young at heart.
To promote the sport the club hosts many open social days where folks who have never played get the chance to try out their skills. The club assists visitors with the loan of bowls for the day.
As the sport is so addictive, visitors come for a day and leave with a passion for the game.
One can remain a social bowler and just enjoy the fun with likeminded people or improve and become a full member of the club and play in competitions.
Visitors and prospective new members are always offered a warm welcome.
