Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution, adapted to the South African context by Mr Allen Goddard, is a tale of crime and intrigue: Deon Mole stands accused of murdering an old lady to inherit her fortune. Only his wife can provide him an alibi – but will she testify? Mole’s fate is in the hands of Counsel for the Defence, Advocate Roberts - but will Roberts and attorney Haleel Khan be able to untangle the web of lies and deceit surrounding the case? Witness for the Prosecution is full of unexpected twists and turns, a whodunit that is only resolved in the final moments of the play.
