An eclectic pr ogramme of nuanced romantic music rich in autumn shades, can be enjoyed fro m the expansive airy sun veranda with a magnificent view, in the heart of t he Kamberg Valley in the Midlands.
Friends Alyssa Bouwer (clarinet) I lse Myburgh (piano) and Nigel Fish (cello) have all missed performing while in Lockdown, so have created an autumnal pop-up concert at the invitation of musician friend, Agnes Jerman of Puddles Cottage in the Kamberg.
T he carefully-chosen eclectic and varied programme includes: Saint Saens’ Le Cygne and Clarinet Sonata Op.167; Villa Lobos’ Song of the Black Swan; Sch umann’s Adagio and Allegro Op.70 and Fantasiestucke Op. 73 and Beethoven’s trio for piano, clarinet and cello Op.11.
Alyssa Bouwer holds a B.Mus Degree from the University of the Free State and a Master’s in Music from the University of Cincinnati. She has played in the Free State Symphony Orc hestra and taught at Grey College in Bloemfontein. She is currently teachin g music at Epworth School in Pietermaritzburg. Ilse Myburgh studied piano u nder Prof Joseph Stanford and achieved a Master’s in Music (Chamber Music). She recently settled in Hilton teaching piano at Epworth and Hilton School s. Nigel Fish has been a member of orchestras in Durban, Cape Town and Aach en, Germany. At present he is a cello teacher in and around Pietermaritzbur g.
Strict Covid protocols will be observed: Only 45 patrons permitted per concert; patrons will be social distanced; masks to be worn at all tim es.
