DESCRIPTION:<p>Workshop Wednesday 7 and 21 August 9am to 12 noon (09h30 – 12h30)<br />P
 articipants in these workshops will be introduced to working on their own” 
 rejected” drawings or paintings, while being inspired by a work of art of t
 heir own choice displayed in the gallery. Demos and discussions will lead y
 ou to your own discoveries.<br />Artist residency – a voluntary collaborati
 on<br />There will be an artist in residency programme between the above tw
 o workshop dates.. It will be a collaborative work on which a different wor
 kshop participant will work on the shared piece each day. The outcome will 
 be unplanned but progress will be recorded and reviewed and discussed durin
 g the last workshop. <br />Materials for workshops what each participant ha
 s to being: <br />• An older work done by participant (it could be unfinish
 ed or a rejected work) on paper or canvas.<br />• If you are working on pap
 er bring a board such as masonite or wood not smaller than your paper as we
 ll as some masking tape or similar to stick paper on to the board<br />• Sk
 etch paper (even a sketchbook), pencils or charcoal and an eraser for devel
 oping ideas.<br />• Materials of your preference to work on top of the olde
 r work you are bringing. It could be water based medium, crayons; pastels o
 r even oil paints and oil paints medium (please do not use excessive turpen
 tine in the gallery). Brushes if needed.<br />• Any of the following if you
  need it with the medium you are using: containers for water or oil mediums
 , old rag, kitchen paper, protection for gallery floor or tables such as bl
 ack plastic bags or newspaper, protection for your own clothes.<br />Cost:<
 br />The total cost of the two workshops is R300<br />Booking is essential.
