Poaching Information Evening

An evening to address the growing concern about incidences of wildlife crime and poaching with domestic dogs in our Midlands area and help us all become better equipped to deal with this if it happens on our farms.

We have three speakers lined up for the evening:

Samson Phakathi is a Senior Field Officer under the Endangered Wildlife Trust People in Conservation Program. Sam works as a community engagement facilitator where he practices a proactive approach to address sensitive environmental issues including , amongst other things, the issue of poaching with dogs and how it is affecting our grassland species.

Neville Van Lelyveld is the Wildlife Management and Conservation chairperson from the KZN Hunting, Shooting and Conservation Association, an honorary officer with KZN Wildife and charman of the Anti-poaching Collaboration Network.

Brian Jones from SACAN. SACAN have a dedicated section that deals with wildlife crimes.

The evening will take place at The Barn Owl (Groundcover Farm) beginning at 6:00pm. Dinner will be delicious soup and bread for R60 pp
